Wonders of Wildlife!
June 23-June 26, 2014
8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
Rising 3rd & 4th Graders
Instructor: Lisa Wear, Director of Horizons Unlimited
Students will learn about wildlife and the important role they play in the planet
we share. Interactive programs and activities will focus on animal adaptations
and survival strategies. Students will explore wetland ecosystems and will
enjoy unique animal encounters - a dynamic adventure you will not forget!
Breakfast and snacks will be provided.
Project Scientist Engineering Camp
July 7-July 10, 2014
8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
Instructor: Anne Ellis, Science Specialist
Rising 6th and 7th Graders
Most people know Leonardo da Vinci for his contribution to the art world, but
this summer, you will be introduced to Leo as a scientist and engineer. You
will explore big ideas behind the man, such as flight, force and motion, water,
chemistry, anatomy, machines as well as his art. Students will be challenged
and engaged in this dynamic, creative, and analytical experience. Breakfast

Camp Star Wars: May the Forces Be With You
July 7-July 10, 2014
8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
Rising 5th and 6th Graders
Instructor: Daniel Safrit, District Science Teacher

knowledge of force and motion, you will help! You will explore big ideas about
force and motion such as friction, gravity, acceleration, momentum, lift, thrust
and drag in order to help our hero. Don’t miss this epic adventure! Breakfast
and snacks will be provided.

Science of Fun Camp
August 4-August 7, 2014
8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon
Rising 1st and 2nd Graders
Instructor: Anne Ellis, Science Specialist
Come and learn why science is so much fun! Campers will explore the
puzzling world they live in as they discover the magic behind the science.
We will investigate engineering through structures and shapes all around
us in the natural and man-made world; understand how things move as we
get in motion about gravity; there will be no mystery in chemistry when we
explore electrifying reactions; and be eco-explorers when we discover pollution
solutions. This is a week that you should not miss - it will be a “STEM-ulating”
experience. Breakfast and snacks will be provided.
Cost of each camp is $100.

Summer 2014 Planetarium Opportunities
Horizons Unlimited Community Outreach
Individuals, outside summer camps, and special interest groups are
welcome to attend.
Audiences of all ages will go on a star safari with storytelling, creating
constellations for the summer sky. A full dome laser light show and
enrichment (craft, activity, etc.) will round out an hour of fun in the
planetarium. The Woodson Planetarium invites the community to join
us as we journey through our solar system and beyond!
When: Most Wednesdays throughout the summer months
Dates: June 25th, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th, August 6th
Show times: 9:45-10:45,11:00-12:00, 12:15-1:15
Doors will open 15 minutes prior to each show.
Admission is $2.00 per person (all ages)
