Expulsions Report
District Competition
The state’s 2012-2013
Consolidated Discipline
Data Report provides
information about the
number of discipline
incidents that were
reported during the school
year and focuses on the
16 reportable offenses

to law enforcement,
superintendent, local
school board and the State
Board of Education.
Current trends showed
an increase in the number

Several new initiatives and interventions are being implemented and
redefined this year to reduce the number of incidents:

(March, 2014)
n Teen Court is active in all the high schools; this program serves as
diversion program from students that plea guilty to a crime.
n Olweus Bullying Prevention and Rachel’s Challenge have been added to
additional schools.
n Current review and revision to the Student Code of Conduct.
n An Alternative to Suspension Program, students are able to complete
assignments and received credit during an out of school suspension.

developing behavior plans and working with mental health and substance
abuse agencies.

and perceptual control.

This was West Rowan’s first year competing under
the guidance of Allyson Cline-Bell, RN, BSN, BS,
Health Science Teacher and HOSA advisor.
The students in the club would like to take
time to recognize the West Rowan HOSA advisor,
Ms. Cline-Bell, who spent countless hours helping
prepare students not only for competition, but also
to be the best future healthcare professionals they can
be. “It’s not often you have a teacher that genuinely
changes your perspective on things. Ms. ClineBell is a remarkable role model. We all appreciate
her dedication and passion for our club, and we
wouldn’t be such ambitious students without her
encouragement and wisdom. She has shared so much with us.”-West Rowan
HOSA students.
“The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality
health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership
development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the
student meet the needs of the health care community.”
Rowan-Salisbury Schools Summer Feeding Program
For too many children, the end of the school year means an end to the free and reduced price meals they depend on throughout the
year. But this summer, the Rowan-Salisbury Schools Summer Feeding Program will help ensure children do not have to worry about
their next meal.
The program will provide regular, healthy meals and snacks for children. Summer Feeding Programs must meet federal nutrition
standards, ensuring that children continue to have access to the healthy, well-balanced foods they receive throughout the school year.
Beyond fighting hunger, summer nutrition programs support quality programming for young people by boosting attendance at
summer enrichment activities and providing the nutrition children need to fuel their day. Children may go on summer vacation, but
hunger doesn’t! The Rowan-Salisbury Schools Summer Feeding Program bridges the summer hunger gap and lets our children know
that the community cares about their well-being all year long.
