• NRHS Student Is State-Level Nominee For US Presidential Scholar
Henderson Lentz , senior at North Rowan High School , was selected by the state-level committee to be considered for the national-level Presidential Scholar . The mission of the program is to recognize and honor superior high school seniors and by doing so encourages high attainment among all students .
The Presidential Scholars Program was established by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964 and since that time has honored over 6,000 outstanding high school seniors .

Congratulations to the following Rowan-Salisbury teachers for participating in the district ’ s second cohort Degree program for achieving a Masters . This is made possible through the generosity of the Fred Stanback Scholarship and in partnership with Catawba College .

• East Rowan Teacher Receives National Music Recognition
East Rowan High Band Director , Emily McNeil , has been selected as the “ National Association for Music Educators / Army All American National Band Director . The announcement was made earlier this month at the All-American Marching Band Director ' s Academy in San Antonio , Texas .
Achieve3000 Reading Champs for January 2017
Woodleaf Elementary , China Grove Middle and West Rowan High teachers and students are the Achieve3000 Champs for the month of January 2017 in their respective grade-levels .
Previous elementary grade-level winners were :

The Achieve3000 Award Patrol surprises three schools each month with the ' rotating ' Achieve3000 Reading Champs banner . An elementary , middle and high school are selected monthly for students achieving the highest overall reading .
