The Superintendent’s ‘Student Leadership Team’ is ready to see high schools
improve for students.
Approximately 50 Rowan-Salisbury high school students will meet monthly with Superintendent Dr. Lynn Moody, Executive Director of Secondary
Education Eisa Cox and Public Information Officer Rita Foil to discuss how they believe high schools in the district can improve in making schools more
inviting, motivating, and engaging for
student learning. They want everyone
to hear their ideas from the President to
Ellen DeGeneres, to US, State and Local
elected officials, to district administrators.
Hundreds are invited to attend the very
first "official" meeting being held in the
district's newly constructed administrative
office building, the Wallace Educational
Forum. The students will present on the
following topics:

F&M Bank is sponsoring a luncheon
immediately following the presentation
in the district's new 3rd Floor Innovation
Center.
The event is being held on Monday,
March 14th.

MAKE-UP DAYS*
The status of any day in the calendar can be
changed at any time during the school year if
days are missed due to inclement weather. All
days (except Sunday) between August 25 and
June 12, no matter how they are designated
on the school calendar MAY become make-up
days. Be advised the week of Spring Break
(April 14-21) is tentative and can be used as
school make-up days. Any Saturday, particularly in January-April is subject to being
changed to a school make-up day. Notice for
make-up days may be short depending upon
the timing and duration of the inclement
weather. General statues and State Board of
Education policy concerning the school
calendar will be followed. The make-up
schedule will be announced as soon as
possible after an inclement weather event has
ended.
STUDENT EARLY
RELEASE DAYS
Student Early Release Days: Students will be
dismissed from school 2.5 hours earlier than
the normal dismissal time on four days during
the year. Lunch will be served before students
dismiss. After school activities will begin at the
regularly scheduled time.
