in the monthly newsletter
published by the Center for
International Understanding.
Pierce was the recipient
of the “Robertson Family
Foundation Global Teacher
Award” scholarship that
provided her with the opportunity
to
travel to Denmark during the summer
of 2012
to enhance her educational global knowledge. Pierce
stated in the article that that she used her newfound
“Danish” knowledge in the classroom, “Part of my
curriculum includes encouraging students to think
10 years ahead: taking ownership of their future and
considering how they will compete globally.”
