Bostian Elementary Students “Get Active”
During Carolina Panthers PLAY 60 Camp
Bostian students in grades 2-5 learned about
teamwork and the importance of physical activity. Carolina Panthers PLAY 60 Camp came
to Bostian Elementary and inspired students
to be physically active. Second through fifth
grade students had a great time learning how to
play like the “Big Cats” as they made their way
through eight different stations that simulated
an NFL training camp.
Isenberg Elementary Students
Honor Veterans
Isenberg students honored local Salisbury
Veterans during a special morning gathering
in November. American heroes from American
Legion 107 in Salisbury paraded through Isenberg’s
hallways while students stood on the sidelines
applauding their service. All four Comrades served
during our nation’s war with Vietnam. They are US
Army Veterans Comrade Homer Robinson, Comrade
John Pharr, and Comrade Leonard Hall (Chaplain).
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps,
Comrade Charlie Rankin, also participated. Comrade
Rankin said, “You don’t know how much we enjoyed
teaching the flag ceremony to the students.” To the
Veterans, we at Isenberg say, “Thank you for your
service!”

Hanford Dole Honor Guard Visits
North Rowan High
Hanford Dole 5th grade students and librarian
Suzanne Crockett visited the NRHS JROTC that is
led by Colonel Tyron Eason to learn proper flag
etiquette. The cadets worked with students and
demonstrated the proper way to fold the flag, to
lower and raise the US and NC Flags, and discussed
the importance of this duty and what it represents.
Hanford Dole students enjoyed and benefited from
hearing what the North Rowan High seniors planned
to do after graduation. NRHS JROTC gave HDES
students a positive perspective of high school.
