East Rowan High National Honors Chorus And Band
East Rowan High School Music Department has four students heading to New York City to represent ERHS at the 2017 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall .

Emily McNeill is the Band Director and Dean Orbison is the Choral Director .
East Rowan High Student & Teacher Receive National Music Honors
East Rowan High student Katie Howard has been selected to be a part of the National Association for Music Education and U . S . Army All-American Marching Band .
Band Director Emily McNeil has been selected to attend the All-American Marching Band Director ' s Academy in San Antonio , Texas .

North Rowan High Band Receives National Recognitions
The North Rowan High School ‘ Green and Gold Tsunami of Sound ’ marching band competed in the 2016 State Championship band competition in Greensboro , placing 3rd overall in their class ; and they went on to compete in National competition in Atlanta , GA against 26 other bands from across the country . Sir D . Davis is the NRHS Director of Bands .
RSS Receives The Learning Counsel National Award
Rowan-Salisbury Schools is one of 12 districts across the country to receive the “ 2016 Digital Curriculum Strategy Award ” presented by the Learning Counsel . The award recognizes the successful integration of digital curriculum and technology in teaching and learning .
Achieve3000 November Champions !
South Rowan High , Knox Middle and Woodleaf Elementary schools were Achieve3000 Champs for reaching the highest reading scores for November . SRHS also won this honor in October and the only school to win for two consecutive months !
The Achieve3000 Award Patrol surprises three schools each month with the ' rotating ' Achieve3000 Reading Champs banner . An elementary , middle and high school are selected monthly for students achieving the highest overall reading scores . The competition began in October to recognize and encourage reading among our students and schools by creating fun challenges and rewards . Administrators and school board members make the surprise presentations to the winning schools . In addition to South Rowan High , Southeast Middle and Cleveland Elementary schools won the honor in October .
