Getting Ready for Parent Conferences
1. Make a list of things to tell the teacher. You might share your
child’s home responsibilities, difficulties in school, special medical
needs, etc.
2. Let your child know that you plan to have a conference with
the teacher and ask if there is something he/she would like discussed.
Let your child know you will discuss the outcomes of the conference
together.
3. Ask the teacher for an outline of what will be covered in your
child’s grade or subject area.
4. Ask questions about how your child is graded and what factors
are considered in the final grade.
5. Plan with the teacher on how both of you can help your child
be successful.
