Samaritan’s Feet donates shoes to Pleasant Ridge Elementary students Volunteers including current and former Board of Education members, elected officials and community leaders participated in the Samaritan’s Feet Back to Basics program. Each child had their feet washed by volunteers before they were fitted with new socks and shoes. Manny Ohonme, CEO and Co-Founder of Samaritan’s Feet, was more than happy to provide a new pair of shoes to children in need. “Some of these children are coming to school with shoes too small for their feet,” explained Ohonme. “To see the smile and joy on a child’s face and the leaders of this community washing their feet makes it a truly successful partnership between the community and the children at Pleasant Ridge Elementary.” This is the second consecutive year that Samartian’s Feet and Gaston County Schools have partnered to participate in the Back to Basics program. A similar program was held last year at Rhyne Elementary. “We’re so thankful to Samaritan’s Feet for their outpouring of kindness and support,” said Pleasant Ridge Elementary principal Amy Hord. “It means a great deal to our children that people took time out of their day to give them a new pair of shoes and show them a little bit of love.” “DO THE RAPTOR!” AND WIN FREE TICKETS! “1. 2. 3. 4.” “Hunt with your feet!” “Eat with your beak!” “Do the Raptor!” *Chomp!* (Count on one hand!)
