Idlewild teacher receives national recognition

Dr. Patricia Smith named Healthy Schools Program Ambassador
Dr. Patricia Smith, a physical education
teacher, saw a need for physical activity at Idlewild
Elementary. What she did to fill that need was
beyond what anyone expected and now, her
efforts are being recognized by the Alliance for a
Healthier Generation as a Healthy Schools Program
Ambassador. She will accepted the honor at the
Healthy Schools Program forum in Little Rock, AR.
Smith has been selected from participants at
approximately 18,000 schools to be one of 19 school
leaders to join the National Ambassadors Network.
The ambassadors will serve as an expert team to
