Kimberly Tuttle is 2019 Teacher of the Year, Micah Fagan is 2019 Teacher Assistant of the Year

Tuttle of Levine Middle College High the 2019 Teacher
of the Year. Micah Fagan of Northridge Middle is the
2019 Teacher Assistant of the Year. The awards were
announced at a ceremony at Mallard Creek High on
May 8.
Tuttle teaches 11th-grade English Honors and
Advanced Placement language and composition.
She began her teaching career 20 years ago at West
Charlotte. At the end of her first year, she was named
CMS New Teacher of the Year. “This has been really
cool to have all this come full circle after 20 years of
teaching,” said Tuttle.
Levine Principal Joey Burch said Tuttle is always
working hard to meet the needs of her students.
“Every day is a good day in Ms. Tuttle’s classroom,”
he said. “She is prepared each day, not only with a
quality lesson plan, but with a welcoming smile and a
nurturing learning environment.”
Tuttle received $1,700 from signature sponsors
Charles G. Monnett III & Associates, a one-year lease
on a new car from Keffer Volkswagen, a television from
the National Teachers Association and school supplies

Fagan received $1,000 from award sponsor Charles G.
Monnett III & Associates. He also received a television
from the National Teachers Association and supplies
from Classroom Central. Fagan works with all three
grade levels at Northridge, focusing on math. He also
teaches an occasional science or social studies class. “I
am all over the building all the time,” said Fagan. “My
colleagues and students laugh because every day I
am constantly being called on the intercom to go help
