Two CMS custodians named National Janitor of the Year finalists Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ custodians have been named finalists in a nationwide Janitor of the Year contest, which is sponsored by Cintas Corporation. Barbara Watson of Pinewood Elementary and Bobby Miller of Sharon Elementary are two of 10 finalists competing for a $2,500 cash prize along with $2,500 in Cintas products and services for their schools — not to mention bragging rights. “We are incredibly proud of our two finalists and all of our CMS custodians who work tirelessly every day to maintain clean, safe and healthy learning environments for students and school staff,” said Ann Clark, superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. “The work they do each day supports the academic success of all CMS students and we are grateful for their dedication and service.” Watson joined CMS in 2009 and has been a valued member of the Pinewood Elementary team for six years. The staff, students and community appreciate the outstanding service she provides on a daily basis. She truly makes our school a better place.” Miller has been with CMS since 2001 and currently serves as the head custodian at Sharon Elementary.
