King of the Court Tournament Raises $10,000 The King of the Court volleyball tournament raised $10,000 in support of local breast cancer patients. Students from the participating schools and CCS Superintendent Barry Shepherd presented Marion Mozingo, development director for Northeast Foundation, with a check on January 22, 2014. CCS students from the Cabarrus-Kannapolis Early College, Jay M. Robinson, Cox Mill, Hickory Ridge, Concord, Mount Pleasant and Central Cabarrus High Schools, as well as students from Concord First Assembly competed in the tournament, now in its 6th year. For the second consecutive year, Concord High School won for the senior division. Mount Pleasant High School won in the junior division. The event was held at Jay M. Robinson High School in October. Students Selected State Winners in Young Authors Competition Congratulations to the following students and educators who have been selected state level winners in the Young Authors and Forever Young Authors competitions.
