CCS Opens New Early Learning Center
Thursday, October 16th was
the first day of school for 36
four-year-olds attending the new
Lockhart Early Learning Center.
The Center, which is operated
through a partnership between
Cabarrus County Schools and the
Cabarrus County Partnership for
Children, is located at All Saints
Episcopal Church through a lease
agreement.
The program expands the early childhood programs offered in
Cabarrus County Schools. The vision of Cabarrus County Schools
early childhood programs is to work in partnership with families and
the community to enhance the active and creative mind of the whole
child.
The program at Lockhart is a full-day program.
Early childhood programs in Cabarrus County are offered at Long
School, the Mary Frances Wall Center, Carl A. Furr Elementary School,
W.M. Irvin Elementary School, Rocky River Elementary School, and
Winecoff Elementary School. The Lockhart Early Learning Center is
located at 525 Lake Concord Road, Concord, N.C. 28025.

Assistant of the Year
Congratulations to Tammy
Lambert on her selection as Teacher
Assistant of the Year for Cabarrus
County Schools.
Lambert is a teacher assistant at
Bethel Elementary School where she
works with students in kindergarten
through second grades. She also
supervises a kindergarten computer
lab at the school. Lambert began
her career with CCS 16 years ago
at Bethel as a teacher assistant/bus
driver.
Bethel Elementary Principal Kevin Blackburn, Elementary Director
Tara Nattrass, and Human Resources Director Kecia Coln surprised
