JMRHS Robotics Team
Receives Grant
The Jay M. Robinson High School competitive
VEX Robotics Team 5139 received a $1,000 grant
from the IBM Community Grant program.
The team will use the funds to begin launching
VEX IQ, the elementary robotics platform. It will
purchase an official IQ playing field and other VEX
IQ materials for CCS elementary schools to study
and use to compete at the N.C. State Championship
competition, which Robinson will host in March.
The VEX Robotics Team applied for the grant
through a team parent who works for IBM.
Under the leadership of Coach David Parisi, the
team submitted a proposal outlining how the
funds would be used and
completed an engineering
challenge from IBM.
