Message from Superintendent Christopher M. Lowder Ed. D. Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! We are excited to welcome back our returning students and eager to meet our new students. Our staff has spent the summer attending professional development conferences and classes designed to enhance their knowledge and skills so that they can continue to provide our students with classroom experiences and enrichment opportunities that are infused with technology and engaging lessons. Cabarrus County Schools continues to offer families a myriad of educational choices and options from STEM and International Baccalaureate to National Academy Foundation certified career academies to early colleges and language immersion and year-round learning. Our district continues to grow. We are grateful to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners for its support and are excited about the construction projects currently under way in our district: Students attending Royal Oaks Elementary School will head back to school in a new building. The new school reopens as an A+ School of the Arts – another innovative school choice option for our families. 2 September/October 2018 • Parent Teacher Magazine n n n Hickory Ridge Elementary School West Cabarrus High School Performance Learning Center Thank you for choosing Cabarrus County Schools.
