New Odell School
Sixteen of the 28 International Baccalaureate ( IB ) students in the Concord High School Class of 2016 earned their IB diplomas .
Many of these IB students were a part of the first class of students enrolled in the IB Middle Years Programme at J . N . Fries Magnet School .
To earn an IB diploma , students had to successfully complete :
• 7 diploma program / IB curriculum courses
• More than 150 hours of service
• A 4,000-word extended essay
• Minimum score requirements on IB exams
The 28 seniors that completed the program earned more than $ 4 million in scholarships and had an average GPA of 4.6 +.
The Class of 2017 has 35 students on track to earn the IB diploma .
The new Odell School , which will house students in grades 3-5 , is being built
