Office Max Makes Teacher’s Day
A typical Tuesday morning turned out to be quite exciting for
Leah Beaver, a kindergarten teacher at Beverly Hills Elementary
School – thanks to OfficeMax and AdoptAClassroom.
Through its A Day Made Better advocacy program, OfficeMax
surprised Beaver and her class with $1,000 in classroom supplies on
Oct. 1st.
OfficeMax partners with AdoptAClassroom to help erase teacherfunded classrooms. According to their research, the average
American teacher spends approximately $1,000 of his/her personal
money to purchase back-to-school classroom supplies.
Teachers are selected based on nominations from their principals
for demonstrating passion, dedication and innovation in the
classroom.
This is the seventh year that OfficeMax has sponsored this
worthwhile program. Five other CCS teachers have been recipients of
the OfficeMax prize patrol in recent years.
A Day Made Better and other OfficeMax Goodworks programs
have contributed more than $25 million in grants and supplies to
support more than 31,000 teachers and their classrooms.
Additionally, through the annual event OfficeMax has helped its
nonprofit partner AdoptAClassroom.org secure funding for more than

Wolf Meadow Elementary School recently hosted a Super Hero
Curriculum Night for parents and students.
