The 2016-2017 school year is in full swing !
This issue is full of information and photos of events and activities that our students have been participating in this fall . We also introduce you to our Principal and Assistant Principal of the year — both of whom are talented and caring educators and administrators dedicated to student success .
We ’ re starting the school year at an all-time high with more than 32,000 students enrolled in our schools . Our teachers and staff remain committed to providing each and every student with a topnotch education .

MPMS Superheroes Assemble
Mount Pleasant Middle School students honored Jacob Hall on Superhero Day Wednesday , October 5th . Students dressed up in superhero attire as a tribute to Jacob , who loved superheroes . Jacob Hall was a student that was injured in the South Carolina school shooting in September . Jacob passed away on October 1st .
HES Goes Global Giving to Haiti
Harrisburg Elementary School students have been busy collecting coins ( and dollars ) for Haiti . During the week of September 19th- 23rd the school raised $ 8,040.38 . With those funds the school will host a food-packing event on November 10th . Students will participate in packing rice and beans for the children of Haiti and will be sending over 5,700 packages of food that will provide over 28,700 meals to orphanages in Haiti !
