CCS Names EC Teacher/Therapist of Excellence Congratulations to Kimberly Baysinger, a speech teacher at Wolf Meadow Elementary School. She has been named the 2015-2016 Cabarrus County Schools’ Exceptional Children Teacher/ Therapist of Excellence. Baysinger was among seven highly qualified exceptional children’s department staff members nominated by their principals for this honor. Wolf Meadow Principal Adam Auerbach said, “Ms. Baysinger is a phenomenal speech teacher, mentor and lead speech teacher for the district. She is one of the most knowledgeable leaders in the building and has a plethora of knowledge and resources to help all the students in the school.” He added, “Some of Ms. Baysinger’s other noticeable work is not done in the speech classroom. She runs the after-school Drama club, Drama Wolves, and every year produces a wonderful show on the Wolf Meadow stage.  She directs, produces and makes the costumes usually by herself.  She also organizes the annual school-wide talent show that is one of the best-attended events at Wolf Meadow Elementary and is one of the highlights of each school year.  Bottom line is that Wolf Meadow Elementary is a better place to work and learn because of Kim Baysinger. If every staff member, in every school were as organized, dedicated to student success and willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, every school would be a successful school full of enriched, successful and happy students.” For this recognition Baysinger will be honored by the N.C. Department of Public Instruction at a dinner at the Council for Exceptional Children Conference in Greensboro in November.   Weddington Hills Elementary Teacher Named Hometown Hero  Congratulations to Alicia Moore, a third grade teacher at Weddington Hills Elementary School, who has been selected as the September Hometown Hero for Cabarrus County Schools.
