Congratulations to
Shanna Turner-Meehan,
International Baccalaureate
coordinator at Concord
Middle School on her
selection as a 2018-2019
World Affairs Council

Cabarrus Tech Wins Carolinas Student
Hunger Drive
Cabarrus Early College of Technology High School was named the
Division II winner of the Carolinas Student Hunger Drive for the
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina! The award was announced at
a special ceremony on March 25th.
The Council’s initiatives
provide vital assistance to
teachers who are trying
to cover the basics of
global studies with limited
resources. Council Scholars
will receive a $2,500 grant
from the WACC to participate in international conferences, study
abroad programs, language immersion classes or other eligible
international education opportunities.
Council Scholars will gain experience through these opportunities
that they can bring back to enrich the classroom experience for their
students.
Congratulations, Cobras!
MPHS Student Has Dream Granted
Mount Pleasant High School Student Bailey Dwyer received a special
surprise. Her school teamed up with Dream On 3 for a signature VIP
send off during a school-wide assembly in April. Bailey’s dream came
true as she traveled to Orlando, Florida and cheered alongside Orlando
Magic’s professional dance team!
