Fifth grade students from Royal Boger Elementary School posed as historically significant figures in the school’s annual Wax Museum on March 28th. The museum occured as the final segment to a project where students selected historical figures to research and study. After students learned about their individual, they impersonated them, costume and all, at the Wax Museum. 6 May/June 2018 • Parent Teacher Magazine NCHS Teacher Featured in NY Times Robert Bates, Veteran and art teacher at Northwest Cabarrus High School, was recently featured in The New York Times! The article highlights the new combat art exhibit at the National Museum of the Marine Corps and the connection between art and combat. Robert, along with a group of other war artists, is a contributor to the permanent collection located in Quantico, Virginia. Prior to teaching, Robert served in the military as a Marine infantryman for eight years and worked as a freelance war artist combining his knowledge of military procedures and art.
