HRHS Wind Ensemble to Perform in
China
The Hickory Ridge High School Wind Ensemble
was invited by the US-China Cultural and Educa-
tional Foundation to participate in a China Per-
formance Tour! On March 28th students flew to
Shanghai and spent ten days touring and perform-
ing their instruments in concert halls. The US-
China Cultural and Educational Foundation has a
mission to promote understanding and friendship
between the two countries. Through the universal
mediums of art, song and dance, the organization
strives to build intangible bonds which can bring
two peoples together. Congratulations!

Play Festival.
The competition
was held at
Spirit Square in
Charlotte, N.C.
on Saturday,
March 24th. The
group achieved
the Overall
Excellent Rating,
the Festival Spirit Award and the Excellence in Acting
Award! Congratulations!
CMHS Repeats 3A State Basketball Championship
In its second state championship appearance, the Cox Mill High School men’s basketball team clinched the 3A
state title for the second year in a row. The matchup between Cox Mill and Northside-Jacksonville took place
on Saturday, March 10th Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of North Carolina State University. Cox Mill finished
with 65 points
over Northside-
Jacksonville’s 63.
Wendell Moore Jr.
was named the
game’s MVP with 24
points. Caleb Stone-
Carrawell was named
the Chargers Most
Outstanding Player
of the game finishing
with 18 points. The
Chargers are the first
3A team to win two
back-to-back state
championships since
Greensboro Dudley in
2005 and 2006.
