Family Workout - Uno Card Game !
Parents , we know that it ' s tough to stay physically fit with kids especially with the sacrifices you have to make throughout the week for them , such as dropping them off at practices and picking them up from after school activities . The bottom line is that breaking routine is tough especially if the routine is beneficial for your kids , but does that give you the excuse not to workout at all ??? NO ! Our solution is simple , spend family time with a fitness twist ! To the right is our version of a classic card game that your family can play with some " get fit " added in , so ... LET ' S PLAY UNO !!!
Everyone is pretty familiar with the classic card game of Uno so we ' ve decide to add more fun and fitness to the game ! All of the original rules still apply for the game . If you ' re unfamiliar with the general rules look at the instructions listed on the box .
Once the game is underway every time a person has to add cards to their hand they must do the exercise of the corresponding color and the number of reps on the card .
Blue Cards = Walking Lunges ( 1 = Both sides ) Yellow Cards = Body Weight Squats Green Cards = Push-ups Red Cards = Sit Ups or Crunches Wild Cards = Burpees
Example : If someone has to add a Blue 5 , Yellow 9 , and 3 Green from the card pile then they must complete the following :
Walking Lunges - 5 reps Body Weight Squats - 9 reps Push-Ups - 3

Winning stories will be published in the 2016-2017 North Carolina Reading Association ’ s book , Step Outside . Authors attended a celebration earlier this month at the Raleigh Convention Center .
