CCS Observes Donate Life Month Cabarrus County Schools celebrated National Donate Life Month (NDLM) in April. Americans are encouraged to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation. An outgrowth of the celebratory month is the Flags Across America initiative that began in 2009. It honors and celebrates the hundreds of thousands of donors and recipients whose lives have been affected by organ, eye and tissue donation. The initiative rallies every donor hospital and transplant center to collectively fly the Donate Life flag during the month of April. Cabarrus County Schools proudly displayed a Donate Life flag in front of the Education Center. This flag, along with the thousands of others that were flown throughout the United States, was a visible and unified statement about the importance of donation and reflects the dire need for donors.
