Message from Superintendent Christopher M. Lowder Ed. D.
will have an opportunity to hear the BOE’s discussion about items
included at the Budget Work Session on Thursday, March 21st and to
share your thoughts about the budget recommendation at a Public
Hearing scheduled for Monday, April 1st. The BOE is scheduled to
adopt the proposed budget at its meeting on April 8th.

Cabarrus County Schools 2018-
2019 Teacher Assistant of the
Year! We surprised Mrs. Hajney
with the announcement at her
school on Jan. 11th.
We are officially in budget
season. Planning for the 2019-
2020 school year budget
began last month in a series
of meetings with our Budget
Committee. The committee
is comprised of district staff, Board of Education (BOE) members,
County Commissioners, county government staff, teachers, principals,
parents and community members.
The committee will review, rate and prioritize requests from district
departments and schools. These requests will then be presented to
the full Board as a recommendation, which will then be submitted to
the Board of Commissioners later in the spring. Along the way, you
