CCEF Launches New Website
The Cabarrus County Education Foundation ( CCEF ) recently launched a redesigned website that is both informative and interactive . The new site , located at www . ccefnc . org , provides visitors with information about the organization and its programs , as well as provides a platform for visitors to register for events , volunteer or donate to the organization .
“ CCEF funds innovative and creative learning opportunities for students , inspires CCS educators , and builds a community that invests and advocates for Cabarrus County Schools ,” said Amy Gough , CCEF executive director . “ Now , we invite the community to learn about our organization , what we do and how you can help at www . ccefnc . org .”
The Cabarrus County Education Foundation strives to make Cabarrus County Schools classrooms transformative and inspirational so students have the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the future workplace . As the brain child of Grace Mynatt and the late Roy Davis , Jr ., CCEF has provided more than $ 350,000 to support the district to provide the best quality education possible . www . ccefnc . org

VEX Robotics Tournament a Success
On Saturday , January 27th , eighty-eight competitive robotics teams from throughout North Carolina and South Carolina converged on Jay M . Robinson High School ’ s campus to compete and qualify for one of the coveted spots to attend the 2018 NC VEX State Championships . Jay M . Robinson High School will host the state competition on March 10th .
In the high school division , Northwest Cabarrus ’ team 11222N and Jay M . Robinson ’ s team 5139D qualified for the state championship . Northwest Cabarrus ’ team also won the Judge ’ s Award . A mix of CCS middle school students took home the Middle School Excellence Award and a mix of CCS elementary school students took home the Elementary School Excellence Award . The Dragons team from W . R . Odell Elementary was awarded the Judge ’ s Award and the Eva1 team from A . T . Allen Elementary took home the coveted Sportsmanship Award .
Cabarrus County Schools hopes to continue to lead the charge in the expansion of robotics programming in the area with future support from local and corporate sponsors . Plans for VEX summer camps hosted in the district this summer will also provide much needed expansion funds as robotics and programming becomes an exciting topic amongst many students of all ages in Cabarrus County Schools .
