WHES Receives NC Beautiful Grant
Weddington Hills Elementary School received a $1,000 grant from
NC Beautiful, a program that promotes environmental education
and helps to enhance the natural beauty of school grounds. Lenora
Barron, physical education teacher at WHES, plans to use the funds
to purchase plants native to North Carolina. The plants will bloom in
an interior courtyard that will be inviting to bees and butterflies and
other native pollinators.

Winecoff ES Student’s Artwork Selected
Congratulations to Logan Patterson, a 1st grade student at
Winecoff Elementary School, whose artwork has been selected as
the official design for the t-shirts sold at the 2016 Special Olympics
Cabarrus County Spring Games! Logan received a gift card and will
be the Torch Carrier for the first lap of the Spring Games Opening
Ceremony in April. Way to go, Logan!

7 a.m. – 6 p.m. daily
Frank Liske Park – Barn Facility
Cost: $100 per week
Campers will investigate all the living creatures found in the
park, in the woods and the open grasslands. The adventures
continue with field trips to the zoo, Discovery Place,
swimming and other fun summer spots.
