Step 1. Get fresh salmon filets from your local grocer, then place salmon fillets on a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2. Season salmon with salt, black pepper, cayenne, and basil leaves.

Step 3. Coat hot skillet or grill pan with olive oil and sear salmon skin side down for 5 minutes until golden brown. Then flip to the other side for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and allow cook time for and extra 4-5 minutes or 7-8 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillet. Place fillets on paper towel if needed to absorb excess oil.

Step 4. Prepare and wash mixed greens. Slice tomatoes, red onion and cucmber.

Step 5. Prepare a simple salad dressing with:

1 whole clove garlic, peeled.

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar.

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil.

1 teaspoon honey.

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.

1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper.

Step 6. Plate salmon fillet, greens, and add dressing.
