Access is for the kids to have time with you and not you with them. Keep it focused on fun times. If supervised follow the rules of the organisation or person supervising it. Access is not a time for discussing case or asking questions about caregivers. If children ask questions that are sensitive gently redirect the conversation.

Play games that interact with your child and if more than one child spend time as a group then activities with each of them that are suited to their age and abilities. If your child becomes upset or is restless do not take this personally or that it is bad, your child might be unwell, tired or bored. If not supervised access is not the time to bring in new partners or friends always remember this time is to be valued.

If your access is weeks or months apart expect changes with your child, if you think they are underweight they may have got taller. Kids also have accidents not all bumps and marks mean your child is be abused.
