A person, be it support or anyone for that matter ringing CYFs because they see something not right or different or even doing it out of spite, can destroy what is left of our statue of strength built over our foundation of glass. The extra stress weakens us to the point that when our children do need us we mentally and physically cannot cope. Our children take what strength we have as a sign everything will be ok.

If a visit from a social worker occurs, our glass cracks and our statue of strength looses its support. It is only then that the situation is one where things could be come a risk factor, not before. The mere fact a social worker had been contacted makes us feel the check up means we are failing.

We as parents should support one another not sit there and judge. Learn to live with understanding. Community organisations etc please think carefully before contacting cyfs unless you are sure. Maybe your parent is coping but feeling overwhelmed. Give strength via encouragement.
