AT & T has indicated that the costs associated with this fiber upgrade , including any additional fiber optic equipment , will be the responsibility of AT & T . This opinion further considers the use of a single 5-inch conduit for main AT & T trunk line coaxial cables rather than their typical standard of two 4-inch conduits for this purpose . AT & T stressed that this modification of their design standard will only be applicable to the Town of Palm Beach conversion program .
• y“ Like-for-Like ” fiber / coaxial systems ( FTTN ) were considered in this estimate for the undergrounding of cable television facilities . Comcast has stated that they will install an upgraded fiber optic network concurrently with the Town ’ s undergrounding program only if the Town funds those upgrade costs . The additional cost of this fiber optic network upgrade ( both Comcast cabling and equipment required upgrades and Town conduit required upgrades ) has not been considered in this master plan ’ s opinion of probable cost . This opinion further considers the use of a single 3-inch conduit for main Comcast trunk line coaxial cables rather than their typical standard of two 2-inch conduits for this purpose . Comcast stressed that this modification of their design standard will only be applicable to the Town of Palm Beach conversion program . y • This opinion of cost only considers the minimum number and size of conduits required to implement the overhead to underground utility conversion .
