T he Museum for East Texas Culture came alive for this year’s Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce Fundraising Banquet, with the theme “Night at the Museum.” Patrons enjoyed appetizers, drinks and dinner, a silent treasure auction, a live auction, a scavenger hunt based on the history in the museum and the unveiling of the 2018-2019 Chamber Magazine. The Chamber of Commerce named Jim Parsons for the 2018 Chamber Citizen of the Year, Red Hat Rentals was named the 2018 Chamber Business of the Year and Ava Harmon received the 2018 Chamber Volunteer of the Year. The Outgoing Chamber Ambassador President was Mary Raum, the 2018 Chamber Ambassador of the Year was given to Aaron Cox and the 2018 Rookie Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Martha Tyer. Judge Jim Parsons presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Lt. Colonel Jack Selden at the banquet, pictured at the bottom of this page with Judge Michael Davis.
