“Each hosting business has the opportunity to showcase their store at Christmas and throughout the year,” Laudadio said. “Visitors who spend the weekend will also have the added benefit of enjoying a full calendar of events in town during Christmas in Palestine.” This year’s food pairings will be done differently. “In the past, we worked with the local high school culinary classes; however, the event was a bit overwhelming for their program,” Laudadio said. “This year, we are working with the hosting business to decide who, and what, they will serve, even offering a $200 stipend to help provide for holiday visitors. For instance, Old Magnolia, who will sponsor a wine tasting, will use the restaurant to provide a food pairing for the Swirl. This way, people get to enjoy wine and Old Magnolia gets to showcase its kitchen repertoire.” Wine Swirl is also working with Palestine’s newest radio station, 93.5 Smooth Rock, to provide Christmas music throughout the evening. “Palestine is where traditions are made,” Laudadio said. “This event is one to look forward to.” Wine Swirl proceeds will go to beautify and promote downtown Palestine.” A limited amount of tickets are on sale now. Sponsorships for this event, starting at $250, are still available.
