The acrobats
Curtain opens
a horse emerges from the darkness
stretching on stage like a white mist.
Acrobats upright on its back
golden suns dressed in their costumes.
Admiration pours through the shuttles
bathing the acrobats with courage
and then
it all begins.
Masterly somersaults
balancing on the tightrope
colourful ribbons
impatience
anxiety
fear.
Acrobats still shining today
under the thousand full moons of the
roof.
Tomorrow
they will be far away
in another town
for one more performance.
