TOURNAMENT For those reading this from the rest of the world, welcome to a review of round 5 of the Midland event. As you can expect in the UK it rained most of Saturday but just in time for setup the weather changed. The sun came out and it was looking to be a good weekend...and I was right, it was a cracking weekend from start to finish. As usual it started with the campout, it was good to see so many camping on Saturday night, they joined us around the fire pit, we had a BBQ and had a bloody good night of chat. It was an extra special event because we were expecting the television cameras. So of course we spruced up the event with new banners, gazebos, netting and trade stands from BZ Paintball Supplies, FS Paintball and Envy Paintball too, the company behind the television show “The Newbies”. Envy Paintball employed Bradlo to produce the five 30 minute episodes. We can expect to see it aired around October time on the paintball channel. I have to say I was very impressed by the professionalism and atmosphere that was created at May event by his team and Nick and Ric from Envy, and of course would like to thank the teams for their help participating in this production of this film. And then there was paintball...of course. I participated in a division of Race 2 that I played in the morning. I have to say that yet again Onslaught stepped up their game and pushed forward to take yet another trophy. We took points away from Durham DV8 2 and Laysick Eagles. The Durham DV8 vs Laysick Eagles game is a grudge match every event, but who would have their game face on this event? Durham DV8 2 sported some of their 5 Man players from Division 3 who wanted to improve their game in preparation for the English leg of the Millennium European Series, Campaign Cup. We look forward to seeing them more often. Thanks to Rab for taking on the role of Ultimate in the Race 2 and the other refs for stepping up their game. The results are; X3EURO.COM 165
