TOURNAMENT
As it always is, and as is should be, the
professional division at the 2013 PSP
World Cup was combat from the first
paintball to the last, with every team in the
division giving every last ounce of themselves in their attempt to climb the podium,
prove they belong, promote their sponsors
and reward their fans. Houston Heat came
out swinging at the World Cup, refusing
to lose a single match and coming out of
the preliminary rounds in a convincing
first slot. They were followed by Edmonton
Impact and the LA Ironmen, both of whom
only dropped and single game in the early
rounds. The shockers there were the names
that we haven’t mentioned- Tampa Bay
Damage and San Diego Dynasty. Both
teams, who had both hoisted the gold trophy at prior 2013 PSP events, failed to advance past the prelims at the World Cup.
The Russians of the Moscow Red Legion
had a rough event at the World Cup as
well, failing to win a single game, while
Aftershock played arguably their best
paintball of the season (at World Cup, big
surprise for the World Cup legends) in the
Champion’s Division though they failed to
move on.
