scenario
Too late: the boss says we’re crunched
for time so we’re stuck with that as an
introductory paragraph. I’ll take another
shot at it next year. But for now, Fulda
Gap 2013. As it has been for several
years, the Fulda Gap scenario, hosted by
Command Decisions, pitted some of the
best-known and most influential scenario
teams in the region along with hundreds
of recreational and competitive players
of every skill level against one-another
on a paintball field that boasts extremely challenging and varied terrain. Two

fortified hills are surrounded by thick,
rolling woods offering creeks, firebases,
tank trails for the numerous tanks the
Fulda game always attracts, and then
there’s Sim City, a large urban combat
area with numerous buildings of varying
sizes flanked by a netted spectator line
allowing those not actively slinging paint
at one-another to watch the action. Spectators in that area were in for a treat for
the 2013 game, as there was an intense
firefight for the city almost constantly
throughout the weekend’s festivities.
