but remained predictable even as ranges increased to those where “ Kentucky windage ” was required to hit targets . At those extreme ranges , accuracy was less surgical and more luck-related , but varied with the brands of paint used . The Fibur-X also kept the markers on which it was tested quiet during firing thanks to its porting . One minor gripe we found with the Fibur-X barrel during testing was that we were unable to really twist and torque it onto our markers to ensure it didn ’ t back off during firing , because the barrel itself uses reverse threads to mate to its marker-specific backs . While this is useful , it also prevented us from tightening the barrel all the way down onto our markers as we would have liked without loosening the barrel tube from its back , requiring us to remove both and start over .
At well over a hundred dollars when the barrel itself , back and Freak inserts are added to Deadlywind ’ s shopping cart , the Fibur-X barrel may not be for every paintball player . However , those serious enough about their game to desire an extremely light , accurate , versatile and quiet barrel will find the Deadlywind Fibur-X delivers like few other barrels can . At the end of the day , each player will have to decide just how valuable hitting what they aim at actually is as they pull out their credit card , but those who do will find the Fibur-X well-worth the investment .
