64 By John Amodea What is the history of your league, event? The league began in 2009 and competed with another fiveman series in our area. That league has since stopped doing five-man events. We average 15-20 teams at five different events, at three different fields in Michigan. Our events have Rookie and Open class divisions. How many events have you run to date? We’ve run 25 events just for this series but I have run three and five-man events since 2000. Do you have sponsors? If so, who are they? We have several sponsors - KEE, Dye, Tippmann/Nxe, Planet Eclipse and Exalt What is your history in paintball? I started playing paintball in 1996 and began playing tournaments in 1999. I played Skyball five times (won it twice in rookie & novice divisions) began playing NPPL ten-man in 2000. We made the switch to seven-man when the leagues split in 2003. I started in D2 seven-man and worked up to Semi Pro in ‘08 (winning D2 & D1 along the way) What separates your events fro ers attend your vents? Because we charge a premium you get great prizes and great on having ten qualified refs on not decided by a call, lack of c penalize cheating and let the t based on who is playing better In your onion, what is the stat ment paintball ? Both are just as successful as t vend at the biggest big games ( ION, Hell Survivors Monster G Living Legends and Wayne’s W events can be up or down but listening to the players on wha field, those events grow. Too m tools but bad applications. Besides price, give us one thin changed in paintball. More field owners that unders and less people opening up pa think it’s the cool thing to do. After taking a year and a half off I started back in D2, won DC event, moved up to D1 the next year and won Vegas. We, CTP Machine won the Semi Pro [title]in just three events in 2013, moved up to pro and finished fifth at Vegas. What can you tell us that no one knows about your league/ events? It’s the best competition in the state and the best stepping stone to come from local events and prime yourself for national level competition. january 2014 photo by www.Fiercephoto.com
