68 The Top Historical Paintball Product Innovations, P 2004, Planet Eclipse Ego When Planet Eclipse introduced the Ego in late in 2004 (05 Ego), it probably had a bit of a familiar feel to some that shot it. After all, the Ego had many design similarities to the Eblade electro-pneumatic upgrade for the Worr Games Products Autococker, the brainchild of Jack Wood and Steve “Flash” Monks. Ledz filled us in on some of the back story of the Ego, “The Eblade had put us on the paintball world map. ‘Cockers were all the rage but they were too slow. The Eblade changed that, but we were still replying on another company’s product on which to bolt ours. Jack and Flash were also looking for the next challenge.” And out of this came one of the most successful paintball markers in history.
