The European Championships Veterans
division saw teams from Great Brittan,
Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland, Russia,
France, Denmark and the Ukraine (no Germany?). France, Denmark and Great Brittan were clearly on their game throughout
their matches. In the semifinals Denmark
beat Poland and France beat Great Brittan.
France beat Denmark in the finals to claim
the European Championship Veterans Division crown.
In the Woodsball event it was the Sandbaggers running through the division to claim
first place. Ratpasse took second place with
Celtic Barbarians, Dutch Privateers and Assala taking third through fifth places.
The CLP saw four groups, each with four
teams. Toulouse TonTons won their three
game group to advance to the quarterfinals. Art Chaos won Group B easily. In a
really strong group that included Edmonton
Impact, Houston Heat, London Tigers and
Vision Marseille it was Impact winning their
three games. Houston Heat’s only loss was
a 4-3 game versus Impact. Group D had
Frankfurt Syndicate taking all three of their
games.
In the quarterfinals Offenburg Comin At Ya
put an end to TonTons dream of a first place
win. In the surprise of the CPL, Outrage Valence knocked off heavy favorite Art Chaos
Moscow. A far earlier exit than most would
have predicted for Art Chaos. Edmonton
Impact won a hard-fought game against Polar Bears Tarko Sale by a score of 5-3. And
Houston Heat beat a very strong Frankfurt
Syndicate 5-3.
