OKLAHOMA D-DAY, SPECIAL EDITION 2013 1030 to 1130 Finally word came in! The Commonwealth had taken sword beach and their Airborne had taken Pegasus. The fight was on. Commonwealth forces moved to advance as quickly as possible on Caen. Meanwhile American Airborne and Allied Special Forces pitted themselves against the German Special Forces and German Airborne to see who could make it to which audible first and who could block who. Some of the 82nd Airborne moved in to link up with the 1st ID at south road. They made advance after advance on the trenches but reinforcements came in slow. By this time German units had an idea of what was going on and moved Heavy Weapon units to the top of south road. Over on Utah Beach the allies finally took out the concrete barrier allowing American armor to advance on the enemy. 1130 to 1400 Utah and Omaha beaches Still hadn’t fallen. With points taken by the Germans the Allies decided to pull back, regroup, and send their forces elsewhere. With that call 4th ID moved off of Utah and began working their way onto the airfield and causeway to begin forcing German Units back to Colleville. Fortunately the French Resistance had made a stand at the center of the valley. Allied units, including the entire 1st ID moved in to help hold the rest of the flag stations and wait for Audibles to be called in the area. Fire fight after fire fight happened as the Germans worked to regain ground in the valley. Unfortunately for the Germans reinforcements from the 4th ID moved into aide the 1st ID and the French. Allied forces also began making ground on capturing Cherbourg bridge until they eventually to it and the points too. 156 paintbal
