DAWN CAME EARLY ON FRIDAY, MARCH 24, AS
THE COLD WIND OF PLANET KLENDAHU BLEW
ACROSS THE LANDSCAPE. MEMBERS OF THE
ARACHNIDS AND THE MOBILE INFANTRY ROLLED
INTO BEAR CLAW PAINTBALL ALL DAY LONG AS
THEY GATHERED TO BATTLE OVER THE PLANET
KLENDAHU. BEAR CLAW WAS THE HOST FOR
MILLENNIUM PAINTBALL PRODUCTIONS AND THE
GAME ‘STARSHIP TROOPERS.’ EVEN THOUGH IT
WAS SPRING, THE WEATHER TURNED OFF COOL
FOR THE WEEKEND, BUT THIS DID NOT STOP THE
PLAYERS FROM COMING FROM AS FAR AWAY AS
FLORIDA, GEORGIA, AND KENTUCKY.
invasion of Klendhu. The main goal of the troopers was
to secure the planet and find one of the nastiest bugs
of all - The Brain Bug. According to the United Citizen
Federation’s records, that were declassified, the Brain
Bug could suck the brains out of a human and know that
person’s thoughts. This is why the Roughnecks, of the
Mobile Infantry, were chosen to find and capture one, so
intelligence could find out how they did it and how to
stop them. The Arachnids’ main goal, on the other hand,
was to destroy the Mobile Infantry and protect the Brain
Bug at all cost.
The Arachnid “bugs” were led by David ‘Deeznuts’
Ferguson while the Roughnecks were led by Mike
‘Storm’ Agra of SAS.
During the first hour of the game, the Roughnecks had
to establish a landing zone andtake over six objectives
including their own base. Standing in their way was the
bugs. Each objective had a horde of bugs in control of
them. At the beginning, the objectives closest to the
landing zone were easily taken over by the Roughnecks.
Saturday morning came with a cold chill that warmed as
the bugs and the troopers began to get ready for the
