Squires playing for the All Americans—just
to name a few.
MLKings Company, with no pro players on
their roster, put on quite the show in the
preliminary rounds, winning all eight of their
games, as did the Washington Winstons with
six pro rostered players. Cabana Boys, with
eight pro players won seven of eight prelim
games. Mackerel Enthusiasts, a really young
team with no pro players won six opening
round games. No other team won more than
five. In the end it was Outlaws defeating
AAF 2, a team that barley made the first cut,
to take first place. Trauma beat Mackerel
Enthusiasts to take third.
Batteries Not Incl uded won the Open Five-
Man, Armageddon GUA won Division Three
Five-Man, Team Speed Gold won Davison
Four Five-Man and Shut Up We’re Trying
won Division Five Five-Man.
Josh Barton and Robert Bendig from North
Carolina playing as Team Boe won the 2
versus 2 competition and the $50,000 prize,
in front of what appeared to be more than
2000 fans.
I have been to all 28 World Cup events and
I can’t remember a better one. From the
Newburg, New York ‘Cups to Old Town
Kissimmee, Disney, the farm auction site or
Fantasy of Flight, this was my favorite World
Cup event. The vibe, the 2 versus 2, the ten-
man and of course the Xball games were all
great. But the vibe, the trade show, VIP, the
family activities around the vendor row—
The Amateur Ten-Man bracket drew 34 teams these are the reasons this event stands out
of all skill levels—names from the past like SD for me.
Aftermath and All Americans, as well as many
up and coming teams and some first timers. See you in 018!
In the end it was DST Alumni defeating the
All Americans to take first place.
