The league is part of a technology and media startup. We can build any fan experience we dream up. Our streaming platform, StreamPB.com, already has integrated chat. During our simulcast of the Super7s webcast, we were able to syndicate matches to social channels within 20minutes. We were also able to syndicate highlights to social channels while those teams were still on the field. Every product we build is to increase viewship of free casts and increase engagement. The Paintball Webcast has always been a 30 hour product to be consumed over the course of 3 days outside of the television attempts. I made the decision to post- produce the NPL show rather than stream it live very early on. On the creative side, we are afforded more flexibility than ever before. We can utilize action-cameras, ref cameras, and many more mobile units. We want to feel the adrenaline, hear the players put together moves, and feel closer to the action than ever before. Our sport is incredible. It’s just very hard to do it live. week in an hour long show that is easy to schedule and easy to consume. One NPL event gives us enough content to release three times a week for months. Awareness is half the problem. We go for weeks at a time without any content between events. What if there was no downtime? Would would happen to viewership and fan engagement? Of course, we need to deploy a little bit of trickery to get the live feeling into a post-produced show. We’re going to live-stream matches at air-times. Chat, polling, fantasy, it all runs in real time with the stream. Our goal is to use technology to enable a live experience. A lot of that tech is already being tested. It’s a true 360 strategy unlike anything this sport has seen. We have a lot of smart people working on this project. JA: Anything you’d like to add? I’m incredibly excited about the future of this sport. I truly feel as though we are ready for a resurgence. Classic paintball is coming back thanks to the ICC and Our show looks different. And we have ICPL, regional leagues are growing, and the ability to distribute it differently. We people are coming back to the sport. NXL can release matches multiple times a participation is up year over year. 086 paintball.media magazine
