name just a few. And there’s a whole new generation of mechanical ten-man teams that have risen up in the last decade— teams like Fox 4 Darkside, Louisville Asylum, Washington Winstons and more. The cross-generational play at the Iron City Classic was truly a sight to see. Seeing teams with 19 year olds and 45 year olds on the field at the same time is also something you don’t see often at national level events. Urban Assault was once again host to the Iron City Classic, although the landscape has changed dramatically recently. There’s apparently a major highway being constructed through some of the Urban Assault property, but other than a detour and back way into the site, there were no real inconveniences caused by the construction. The mounds fields were reconstructed and looked much more like 64 paintball.media magazine the original 90s fields this year than last year’s grass and greenery covered mounds. The Iron City Classic is an open division event—there are no pro, amateur or divisional brackets. Everyone plays in the same division. Of the 54 teams playing only the Saberwolves won/maxed all of their eight preliminary round games. Farside had seven max wins and one body count win. There were five, one-loss teams: Philly Americans, San Antonio X-Factor, Gridlock, Image and ac: Empire. On the other side there were only four teams that did not have at least one max win. The majority of the teams playing won between three and five preliminary rounds games in this ultra- competitive event.
