and a first place win in Atlantic City. Could
they repeat? For San Diego Dynasty they
started the season with a win in Las Vegas and
have fallen off the grid with 9th and 6th place
finishes in Dallas and Atlantic City. How about
San Antonio X-Factor? They are a model of
consistency, almost always in the final four
but without a win. And there’s Tampa Bay
Damage, a team everyone counted out this
season—can they make the jump from 3rd
place in Dallas, 2nd place in Atlantic to win
Chicago? And all of these teams are hoping
to have a shot at the 2017 NXL Title with only
Chicago and World Cup remaining.
Moving on from the Pro Xball preliminary
rounds is often a matter of a point here or a
point there. The Chicago Open proved this
to be true again as Los Angeles Infamous
and Houston Heat missed the quarterfinals
cut with two wins each and Moscow Red
Legion and Los Angeles Ironmen made the

cut with two wins each. Interestingly no pro
team won all four of its prelim games.
In the quarterfinals the Los Angeles Ironmen,
making their first Sunday Club in a very long
time sent Seattle Uprising home early 3-2.
A red hot Tampa Bay Damage cruised past
Moscow Red Legion 5-2, so there would be
no back-to-back event wins yet this season
in the pros. ac: Dallas upset their regional
counterparts, San Antonio X-Factor 3-2 and
in a great match Edmonton Impact sent San
Diego Dynasty home early.
Edmonton Impact would face the Los
Angeles Ironmen in their semifinal match
and it was a good one. Impact would go on
to win 4-2 in a well-played game. ac: Dallas
played a long and slow match with Tampa
Bay Damage and surprisingly to some, sent
them to 3rd place. Onto the finals….
