The semipro division of the NXL Europe is
loaded with talented but inconsistent at
times, teams. Russia’s Cryptonomics is a
perfect example of that as they have two
second place finishes, wrapped around a
19th place finish in Prague. Amsterdam Heat
had a 21st place finish in Chartres and then
won both Prague and Basildon. Such is life in
the semiprofessional division.
Here in Chantilly Cryptonomics got off to a
hot start with four straight preliminary round
wins. Stockholm Ignition was the only other
four win preliminary round team. And this was
a precursor to what would come as these two
would meet in the semipro finals. The final
game would be all Cryptonomics as they
dismantled Stockholm Ignition 6-2. Russian
Roulette beat Lucky 15s Staffordshire 4-2 in
the consolation game.
Twenty teams entered Division Two Xball
with Bergen Legacy, Beira Mar Confienergy
and Fighter Pro Shar Perm going undefeated
in the preliminary rounds. In the end it was
Bergen Legacy shutting out Beira Mar
Confienergy 4-0 in the finals, for their first win
of the season. The Norwegian Bergen Legacy
had two previous final round appearances
this season.
