NEW product SPOTLIGHT Empire SYX Marker For weeks leading to the 2018 NXL World Cup, talk was rampant that Empire and G.I. Sportz would release a new marker. This talk was proven true when images leaked during World Cup week, then as the new marker appeared in the dealer area and then the retail sales area of the G.I. Sportz / Empire booth at the event! The Empire Syx, as the marker is named, is the newest generation of the Empire Axe platform, but takes the concept to a new level of look and performance creating what appears to be a standout in the mid-level tournament marker category! Named for its position in the Axe marker generation, Sixth, the Syx offers a sleek, aggressive new look and comfortable feel with no external air hoses, a vertical feed neck, two-piece, ported barrel, wrap-around rubber grips and a regulator housed in the pistol grip frame. Tool-free maintenance and bolt removal and an OLED board make the Syx as convenient as it is light, small and easy on the eyes. While not officially on the market yet, the prototypes we examined at the 2018 World Cup looked well-made, were comfortable to hold, very lightweight and should they shoot as well as they look, the Syx will likely carve an impressive niche into paintball for the 2019 season and beyond! www.EmpirePaintball.com Bunkerkings CMD Goggle A much-talked-about Kickstarter campaign was the path chosen by Bunkerkings to launch their CMD, or “Command” goggle system this Fall. Lauded by the company as “a revolution in paintball goggle technology”, the is being advertised as “the world’s most fog-proof paintball goggle.” While both statements are tall orders, there’s no doubting that when the goggle does reach the market, it’s likely to be a great product, thanks to a list of standard features including a thermal, HD polycarbonate lens, improved mouth clearance and air flow through a flexible facemask, a standard “microvisor” to help protect the lens and deter glare, improved hearing through redesigned ear coverings and interchangeable plush face foam. To say the Kickstarter campaign for the CMD goggle was successful would be an understatement, and those who contributed the largest amounts will receive limited editions and delivery is slated for January 2019. www.BunkerKingscom 08 paintball.media magazine
